[Alice waits patiently while Angel looks into her blood supply, and feels her shoulders slump a little. She feels like an idiot. She should have tried to squirrel some away...but it just would've gone bad, of course. But even so, her last feeding was before Aela's trial...]

...I should be okay. [She tucks her hair behind her ear. Smoothing it down. Composing herself. Her eyes have faded to a dull gold...but that's fine.]

I'll just keep to myself until then. I'm sorry to be such a bother.

[ Angel taps a few more times, then types something in. ]

There, I put in an emergency request. It takes more than just his vote to veto that, Doctor- the scientist he works with will have to agree with him, and she's very good at not doing that. Should be sorted out by the end of the weekend.

[Alice's ears perk up at the mention of another scientist. She doesn't say anything, of course, but she files that away for later. There are more of them. She gives Angel a smile, a real one.]

Thank you. I really appreciate it. Usually it wouldn't be so urgent, but it's harder to go longer between feedings without, you know. A whole something-or-other to feed on in one go.

I'm not... exactly familiar with the concept of being a vampire, but I am familiar with the concept of needing to eat food to live. I'll rush it as much as I can.

She shifts in place, and then clears her throat.]

And...one more thing. I don't know how you got that...electric shock, or any of that. But I do know that I've got experience being stuck in a place where people took awful advantage of me. Did terrible things to me. So, if you ever need to talk...I'm here for you.
