OFFICE HOURS
Got something you want to say to your good friend The Professor's Assistant? Come on in, don't be shy! Her official hours are daylight hours - girl has to sleep? after all, probably - but if you knock on the door at night she'll generally answer. Please just make sure to leave the in-game date and time in the header of your toplevel!

[ Here, Angel, it's premium stuff, finest pop this side of the hose-- ]
Not much of a drinker, but the police department has these little "group bonding" activities all the time, and I always feel like it's kind of taboo not to drink a little at those things. Plus, I mean, it's on my boss's dime, so it'd be a mistake not to take advantage a little...

It's catchy. I've had that song stuck in my head since yesterday.

[ She thinks for a few seconds. ]
I know it wasn't me who put it there, so you probably have the cleaning staff to thank?

[ As if trying to punctuate her point, she runs a hand through her hair and pulls it back; it's sort of punk! ]
I know you've probably never been to a rock concert, but I feel like you'd probably fit right in.

[ She runs a hand over her cybernetic implants, smiling a little. ]
I listen to... you know, honestly, The Clash at Demonhead is absolutely my style.

[ She scans through what looks like a standard music app. ]
CHVRCHES is kind of like them, I think? Most of what I listen to is a little more down-tempo, but... I can see what I can do if you want me to ask for some more CDs.

[ Though, wait, right, they're in 2020 now... ]
Mm, what did I listen to when I was studying abroad in Europe...I was eighteen years old, and as eighteen year olds do, I was going through a little bit of a phase at the time. The kind of phase where you want to just sorta throw yourself at everything and prove yourself, you know?
[ She crosses her arms and stares up at the ceiling of Angel's office a bit... ]
Marina and the Diamonds, Florence and the Machine, Lana del Rey, and Halsey? I liked Paramore, too...
[ A little embarrassing... ]

I've heard some of their stuff... Nothing embarrassing about liking Paramore. Did you ever listen to Daughter?
[ you know, Paramore With Depression? ]

Do you recommend their less popular stuff? I know deep cuts are usually where it's at...

[ she turns the music app towards Ema - the popularity metrics are all completely empty ]
... I don't know what's popular or not, exactly. But I'm a fan of them in general.

[ A little bit upsetting... ]
That's kind of lame. You really don't get any, like, blogs or social media or anything at all on that thing?
[ Granted, neither do they, but, sometimes you gotta send a poke to your friend that lives four countries away-- ]

[ She takes a sip of her vodka soda... ]
What about things like current events? Do you get updates from your boss with things like that, or do you know as much as we do?

[ Of course, there isn't much about this situation that isn't. ]
I guess you'll see once you get out of here, but it's kind of fun to look up posts and stuff of what people thought of these songs once you finish. Sometimes they come out of it with a completely different point of view than you did, which is interesting in its own way, scientifically speaking...
